With its lovely huge windows it can be seen from far and the outside space its lovely and sunny in the summer.JP’s is a warm and genuine welcoming bar with a diverse clientele. During the day a raised area to the back is a family-friendly haven, stocked with all the toys, highchairs for children and their parents. From 5pm we let the grown-up children play themselves in an equally laid-back atmosphere.Brunch – JP’s has been voted one of the best places for Brunch in UK. Other favourites on our menu is our Meatballs that change seasonally and the all so popular pancakes!!Our food is made from ingredients from our local suppliers eg Tattie Shaws, Manna House, Belhaven Smokery, Welsch fishmongers. Our coffee is from Artisan Roast and is called the Boda Blend since it is roasted Moonsoon Beans.
Mamma Roma Restaurant is a family run restaurant and was founded in 1996 by Mennato Mastrocinque and his father Giovanni. Giovanni Mastrocinque started his first restaurant when he first moved to North Berwick in 1981. His restaurant (still standing now) is called Bella Italia and is located in North Berwicks High Street. The restaurant has been serving its loyal North Berwick residents and tourists for over 30 years now. A few years later, after openning Bella Italia, Giovannis son, Mennato Mastrocinque, moved to Scotland in 1985 after finishing his studies in Italy. During summer vacations he would visit his father in North Berwick and would help in the restaurant. He learned the trade very quickly and had a natural talent for preparing authentic Italian cousine. Having learned and experinced all aspects of running a restaurant, Mennato decided to follow his fathers steps and open a restaurant of his own. In 1996 Mennato found just the place. This was Mamma Roma as it stands now on 4/7 Antigua Street (near/opposite The Edinburgh Playhouse). Since then, Mamma Roma has served thousands of happy customers and in particular theatre goers, made many birthdays, hen, stag, anniversaries and other special occasions unforgetable. Mennatos father retired in 2001 but still likes to help around a bit. He is a very familiar face in the restaurant. Mamma Roma cares a lot about its customers and promises to always provide the best service possible. Our customers are part of the family and we will do the best to coninue to look after them.
